Workshops/online training course
On the following pages, you will find further information about the Metacognitive Training (MCT) courses we offer and how to contact us if you are interested in a particular course. We offer practical online workshops via Zoom (live). You can also take part in several accredited online training courses, including Metacognitive Training (MCT), which can be completed at your own pace. You will find links to our courses in the menu on the left and at the bottom of this page.
Metacognitive Training (MCT) workshops: Further education
Face-to-face workshops
We regularly offer practical in-person workshops on metacognitive training for people with psychosis (MCT: group MCT; individualized MCT (MCT+), MCT for acute patients (MCT-Acute)), depression (D-MCT), and older people with depression (MCT-Silver). These are intended for psychologists, physicians, psychotherapists, psychiatric nurses, and occupational therapists.
If you would prefer an online workshop, please email us at moritz@uke.de.
Workshops in North America, Australia, Asia and Europe
All of our MCT materials are available as a free download (www.uke.de/mct), and we are happy to provide training to clinicians interested running MCT groups. Although training via a workshop is not mandatory to use our materials, we have received a large number of requests for workshops from colleagues and are happy to provide training to clinicians interested in running MCT groups.
We typically run a two-day workshop for groups of clinicians. Please contact us for further information regarding costs.
The workshop typically covers the following topics:
- Research and theoretical background related to each of the MCT modules
- Practical tips on leading each MCT module or session (e.g., how to convey specific exercises, role-playing)
- How to integrate principles of group cognitive behavioral therapy when facilitating MCT groups
